More than 50% of foster children experienced mental health issues compared to 20% of children in the general population, according to a recent report.

To learn the prevalence of mental illness and access to care among youth in your state, take a look at Mental Health America's state ranking. States with high rankings have lower prevalence of mental illness and hgher rates of access to care for youth. Lower rankings indicate that youth have higher prevalence of mental illness and lower rates of access to care.
